RockSTAR Sunset Strip Music FestivalSaturday, February 4, 2012 RockSTAR is blowing up on the Sunset Strip! RockSTAR is L.A.'s largest non-profit music education program that brings music back into the schools and turns kids' rock 'n' roll dreams into reality. We will be showcasing over 150 bands of elementary and middle school students as they rock out at the Key Club, the Roxy and the Whiskey A Go-Go on the afternoon of Saturday, February 4, 2012, in front of an audience of thousands. We hope you can find the time to participate in this exciting event. RockSTAR employs professional musicians who help students develop their skills on guitar, bass, drums, keyboard and vocals, transforming them into RockSTARs who can play classic tunes - as well as write their own! With celebrity support from rock icons such as Carlos Santana, Gene Simmons, The Black Keys, Sarah McLachlan, Sammy Hagar, and Run-DMC, RockSTAR students get the chance to learn all about the world of rock 'n' roll in a REAL band setting and to perform at actual, world-famous rock venues. RockSTAR Music Education is a division of STAR Education. For the past twenty-five years, STAR Education has been serving students, parents, schools and communities through affordable in-school and after-school educational and enrichment programs. STAR operates in 60 school districts in California and recently opened a RockSTAR branch in Nashville. STAR holds numerous large-scale community events, reaching over a million learners and their families each year.
